Somewhere Else

We saw this unusual-looking caravan being towed through the centre of Perth a few months back, and then saw another one (or maybe the same one) while driving in the country recently. It’s a Prattline Low-Tow. These vans take a different approach to the conventional pop-top idea, by having the roof and half the height of the walls wind down for compactness when towing. It’s an interesting approach, but one that never really caught on.

You don’t see Prattlines around very often. We photograph a lot of caravans each year and have previously seen only one Prattline – the 1978 model shown below.
